Leadership:
President and CEO
James "Todd" Edwards
Mr. Edwards founded Edwards Telecommunications in May 1996 with a vision of offering
a wide range of support services targeting the CATV and telecommunications industries. Prior to ETI,
Mr. Edwards was president and CEO of Edwards Cable Services, a firm that coordinated sales, marketing
and installation initiatives for various cable operators. Additionally, his background includes
mergers and acquisitions, finance and contract administration. Mr. Edwards attended
Asheville-Buncombe Technical College and served in the United States Navy. He is an active member of
the South Carolina Cable Television Association and the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) Council.
Vice President of Business Development
H.E. "Buddy" Timmons, Jr.
With more then 25 years experience in CATV and telecommunications operations management, Mr. Timmons joined
Edwards Telecommunications from Adelphia Communications where he served as general manager of the Western North Carolina operations. His
background also includes serving as director of operations for Charter Communications of South
Carolina. Mr. Timmons received his bachelor of science degree in humanities and sciences from the
University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. He is a past president of the South Carolina Cable
Television Association and a past member of the North Carolina Cable and Telecommunications
Association board of directors.
Director of Operations
Kevin Barrett
Mr. Barrett is a 23 year veteran of the cable television industry, with an eclectic background
in various departments. He began his career in Columbia, South Carolina and has worked for telecommunications
companies such as TCI, InterMedia Partners, Vision Cable, Century Communications, Adelphia
Communications and Time Warner Cable. For most of his career, Mr. Barrett has held positions as a general manager
in North and South Carolina and he has a vast knowledge of the cable infrastructure in those
states. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Carolina, has served on the
South Carolina Cable Television Foundation board and has held positions as director and
president of the South Carolina Cable Television Association.
Operations Manager
Kurt Newber
Mr. Newber joined Edwards Telecommunications as operations manager, bringing over 27 years of
experience in CATV operations. Prior to joining ETI, he served as Sr. Director of Area Operations
for Mediacom Communications in Columbus, Georgia and has also worked for Time Warner and Charter
Communications. Mr. Newber served over 18 years on the board of directors for the South Carolina
Cable Association in various capacities including President. He studied business and marketing at
the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
Fleet Manager
Keven Hyatt
Mr. Hyatt has over 12 years of plant management experience, with a special focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining ETI, Mr. Hyatt excelled in directing production, maintenance, fleet, shipping, and receiving at Philips Products in Chester, South Carolina.
He is a 1995 graduate of Clemson University with additional training in
Lean Management.
Jeff Farmer
Director of Recruitment and Development
Mr. Farmer joined Edwards Telecommunications in August 2007, after completing 20 years of
honorable service to our country. During his military career, Jeff served as a drill instructor,
recruiter, training instructor and an A-team detachment Sergeant in the U.S. Army Special Forces.
He received an Associate of Arts degree from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Science in
Russian Studies from Excelsior College. Jeff is a veteran of two wars and was awarded the Bronze
Star for his actions in combat while serving in Afghanistan.
